COVID-19

Updated 12:00 pm, September 28, 2020

Like you, we monitor the guidelines issued from our local health authority about COVID-19. This past Friday the Winnipeg Regional Health authority announced a change to an Orange or Restricted Level.

Following heath guidelines that keep our valued staff, members, suppliers, and partners healthy is a top priority. To that end, we have reviewed the new guidelines that go into effect tomorrow (September 28, 2020) and have summarized any new safety protocols in bold and have also included all other health & safety protocols that remain in effect across all Launch locations.

First and foremost, we remain open for your business needs at our Southside, Exchange and now Village locations provided that you share our commitment to acting in a socially responsible manner. Whereas;

  • Masks are now mandatory in any lobby, hallway, elevator, washroom or commons area in the Launch Exchange and Launch Southside buildings.

  • Masks are not mandatory while inside Launch, but we encourage members to wear a mask when physical distancing is not possible.

  • Conference rooms “Thrive” and “Collaborate” are limited to 10 persons at any given time.

  • If you or someone with whom you had direct contact with has been tested for COVID-19 please do not come to Launch until you have received your negative results.

  • If you have recently returned from any international destination or you have come into close contact with anyone who has returned from an international destination (which includes the USA) the health authorities are asking you self isolate for 14 days.

  • If you are returning from any province West of Manitoba,  there is no requirement to isolate for 14 days unless the health authorities have told you otherwise.

  • If you are returning from anywhere East of Northwestern Ontario the health authorities are asking you self isolate for 14 days.
  • If you or your family members are showing any signs of sickness that are known symptoms of COVID-19 please do not come into Launch until you are healthy.

  • If you plan to work from Launch we are encouraging staff, members, and guests to frequently wash their hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds and to use the alcohol-based hand sanitizer (subject to ongoing supply) being provided at each entry and in many of our meeting, conference, and call rooms.

  • If you plan to work from Launch we are encouraging you to consider a ‘physical distance’ of 6 feet. We have plenty of space in all of our location to accommodate this distance and encourage this recommended practice by health authorities.

  • Our building owners continue to clean and sanitize all access and public spaces within our buildings. These activities include taking extra care to sanitize railings, doorknobs, doorhandles, elevator buttons, restroom surfaces, and counters.

  • We clean all door knobs and handles, tabletops, lighting controls, remote controls, dishwasher, coffee machines, and beer tap handles within our locations daily. Your help will be appreciated to either conduct the cleaning before and after your use or inform one of our staff to do so.

On-site Launch Health Guidelines:

  • We require daily self-screening prior to entry.
  • We require Check-in using the Launch App (unless you have booked a meeting room)
  • We require that you sanitize your hands when you enter any of our locations.
  • Please wash your hands or sanitize before you use anything in the kitchen.
  • As a respect to other members, we ask that you wipe down your desk and chair before and after its use
  • Physically distance when relevant to do so.
  • Wear a mask when relevant to do so.

We will do our absolute best to continue to deliver a predictable and safe coworking environment that you’ve become accustomed too. Our community leaders are ready to serve you in any way that you prefer. If you prefer to forego in-person visits, we completely respect that and invite you to connect with us directly over the phone or email.

If you have any health & safety questions, concerns, comments or ideas that should be considered, please contact me directly.

The easing measures announced today by Manitoba’s health authority to restore safe services are a welcome and earned reward for our commitment to stay home.

To my knowledge, all of our members are safe and sound and I’m excited to see all of you again (in person)!

The above said, we are committed to the health and safety of our staff, members, suppliers, and partners. At this moment in time re-entry back to Launch will require that:

  • Each person entering launch complete the self-screening questionnaire here.
  • Each person stay home or return home if you’re showing any signs of COVID-19 symptoms.
  • Hand-sanitize (available in the reception area of each location) or wash your hands upon entry.
  • A shared respect for professional distancing is practiced. This means;
    • Desk, booth, window, and lounge seating will follow social distancing and will be assigned on entry. An every-other-desk approach will be used to satisfy the 2m requirement.
    • Meeting rooms will convert to single occupant offices and can be booked using the Launch App.
    • Conference rooms can continue to be used for face-to-face meetings and can be booked using the Launch App.
  • Relevant Signage and/or floor marking will be posted.
  • We will limit the capacity at any given time of each location to 46 people at Southside and 59 people at Exchange.

Specifically, the experience beginning on May 4th at Launch will include the following;

  • Every person entering Launch will be asked if they have completed the self screening questionnaire.
  • Every person entering Launch will sanitize or wash their hands.
  • Every person will be assigned a desk/seat on entry and “check-in”.
  • Every desk and chair will be wiped down by Launch staff or member before and after it’s use.

Lastly, I invite you to share any ideas that will enable our safe and comfortable return to Launch services in a post health crises environment. To that end, please take a moment to review, vote and/or submit an idea for consideration here:

If you have any questions or concerns please contact me directly.

Launch Members,

Like many of you, we are monitoring the news being issued from our localnational, and international health authorities about COVID-19 in real time. Keeping our valued staff, members, suppliers, and partners healthy is a top priority.

To that end, we are open for your business needs at both Southside and Exchange locations until health authorities say otherwise, and provided that you share our commitment to acting in a socially responsible manner. Whereas;

  • if you have recently returned from any international destination or you have come into close contact with anyone who has returned from an international destination (which includes the USA) the health authorities are asking you self isolate for 14 days

  • if you or your family members are showing any signs of sickness the health authorities are asking you to self isolate for 14 days

  • if you plan to work from Launch we are encouraging staff, members, and guests to frequently wash their hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds and to use the alcohol-based hand sanitizer (subject to ongoing supply) being provided at Launch locations.

  • if you plan to work from Launch we are encouraging you to consider a ‘social distance’ of 6 feet. We have plenty of space at our exchange location to accommodate this and encourage this proposed practice by health authorities.

  • our building owners are increasing the frequency of cleaning all access and public spaces within our buildings. These activities include taking extra care to sanitize railings, doorknobs, doorhandles, elevator buttons, restroom surfaces, and counters.

  • we will endeavour to clean all door knobs and handles, tabletops, lighting controls, remote controls, dishwasher, coffee machines, and beer tap handles within our locations after each use. Your help will be appreciated to either conduct the cleaning after your use or inform one of our staff to do so.

  • if you you plan to work from Launch and have a regular habit of coughing or sneezing consider working from home as these acts, tho may not be related to COVID-19, will cause anxiety for others

We will do our absolute best to continue to deliver a predictable coworking environment that you’ve become accustom too. Our community leaders are ready to serve you in any way that you prefer. If you prefer to forego in-person visits, we completely respect that and invite you to connect with us directly over the phone or email.

We have also revived our slack channel so that we can all stay connected during this uncertain time.

Lastly, we are preparing for an imposed business interruption that is likely in the coming days/weeks. You should also consider the impact of a business interruption and collect any personal or business effects that you may require from Launch in order to work from home.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact me directly.
