Founders Coffee: Crystal Hood – When you elevate others, good things happen

The Speaker 

Crystal Hood, D.GPC, MBA, BBA, BMus (she/her) is the co-Founder and Executive Director of Hood and Dagger Productions, a registered charity with a mandate to “Build Community through Community Theatre”. Founded in January 2024, Hood and Dagger Productions completely sold out five of its six shows to date, partnered with dozens of local businesses, and gave $24,000 to local charities. Crystal’s motivation to create the organization resulted from her own personal experience with the positive mental health benefits of engaging in theatre, and wanting to provide opportunities for everyday Winnipeggers of all backgrounds and experience levels to enjoy the same incredible experience of getting involved in theatre as well. Crystal has been instrumental in establishing the company’s governance, by-laws, and policy systems, as well as the marketing, accounting, website, charity status, fundraising, and overall organization. Crystal enjoys being behind the scenes, elevating others, and removing friction points.
