We’re thrilled to report that the Launch Downtown Grand Opening was a fantastic success! With nearly 100 guests filling the space, the night was filled with energy, connections, and celebration.
This recap is for our guests who joined us that night, but also for any of you who couldn’t make it. Here’s a recap of the memorable evening:
Guests began arriving at 7:00 PM to the sounds of live DJ Mama Cutsworth and enjoyed cocktails crafted by Muse Café and Gusto North. The evening started with casual networking as attendees mingled, met fellow entrepreneurs, and connected with Winnipeg’s vibrant business community.
The formal program kicked off with a special welcome from the MC, Chris Sigurdson, Marketing Leader at Launch, and a land acknowledgement and opening prayer from Elder Barbara Nepinak. The program included inspirational speeches from local business leaders such as Kate Fenske, CEO of Downtown Winnipeg BIZ, Amanda Macdonald, Vice President, Business Development & Market Intelligence at EDW, Loren Remillard, President & CEO at The Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce, Jason Abbott, Founder and CEO at Launch Founder & CEO of Launch Coworking, who spoke about Launch’s journey and the purpose of this new space in the broader context of a growing Downtown Winnipeg and the evolving work culture of hybrid remote work. Each speaker shared valuable insights about Launch’s impact on the community and the exciting future of workspaces in Winnipeg.
A true highlight of the evening was the ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8:30 PM, led by Jason Abbott and other VIP guests. Remillard asked Abbott to cut an extra piece of the ribbon and tucked it into his pocket for the rest of the evening.
The festivities continued as guests enjoyed a variety of local refreshments, charcuterie, and desserts while networking and relaxing. DJ Mama Cutsworth kept the energy high, creating an atmosphere perfect for ending the night with new connections and great conversations.
Our Downstairs neighbours at Thomas Hinds Tobacconist kept the party going late into the night in their sampling room.
